Beginner & Improver Training

Most of you already know our traditional Samba Series, which always carries the name of the season we are in. Each season represents a new chapter in the journey of our dancers and in the evolution of Dance Migration.

At Dance Migration, we are not simply a dance school. We are a space for artistic growth, cultural connection, expression, and personal transformation through movement.

Samba is more than steps.

It is rhythm, presence, creativity, musicality, confidence, and the ability to express something authentic through the body. Technique is essential, but true dancers go beyond technique. They develop awareness, artistry, and a deeper relationship with the music and with themselves.

This is what we cultivate through the Dance Migration Method.

With this intention, we are excited to open registration for our next training cycle.

SPRING SAMBA SERIES

🌀 Samba Beginners
6:30 PM – 7:45 PM

🌀 Samba Improvers
7:45 PM – 9:00 PM

Classes are led by Adrianna Yanuziello, Founder and Artistic Director of Dance Migration, along with Miranda Liverpool, one of the original members of the Dance Migration community. Guest teachers may also join throughout the series to share additional perspectives within Brazilian dance traditions.

SAMBA BEGINNERS

The Beginner Series is ideal for:

• dancers who are new to samba
• students building their first foundations
• dancers returning to basics to strengthen their technique

In this class you will:

• learn the foundational samba step
• develop rhythm and musicality
• understand body coordination and posture
• build mobility and strength for samba movement
• gain confidence and comfort with the dance

This is where many dancers begin their journey with Dance Migration.

SAMBA IMPROVERS

The Improver Series is designed for dancers who already have some experience with samba and want to deepen their training.

In this class dancers will:

• refine their samba step and body control
• improve speed, coordination, and fluidity
• explore traveling combinations and musical phrasing
• develop expressive movement and confidence
• build stamina and technical precision

Improver training helps dancers bridge the gap between foundational learning and more advanced Dance Migration programs.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY

Salsa on St. Clair Parade

During the Spring Series, a section of our Beginner and Improver dancers may have the opportunity to participate in the Salsa on St. Clair Parade with Dance Migration.

This is a beautiful opportunity for newer dancers to experience the energy of dancing with the Dance Migration community in a public celebration and to take a first step into the performance journey.

Participation requires the Dance Migration Beginner / Improver uniform.

Uniform Cost: $68

Because organizing the parade requires advance planning, dancers who wish to be considered must indicate their interest in advance.

Once registered for the course, dancers who are interested in participating should email the team to confirm their interest so we can organize the group and next steps.

This experience serves as an exciting introduction before one day performing in heels, costume, and stage productions with Dance Migration.
